Commission Terms & Conditions
I WILL DRAW: humans, anthro, fantasy, sci-fi, horror, animals, sparkledogs, flying mongooses in hats.
I WON’T DRAW: copyrighted characters, explicit sexuality (porn), hateful subject matter. I reserve the right to refuse subject matter I’m uncomfortable with. If it’s something borderline or you’re not sure, just ask.
Official Terms & Conditions:
1. Additional charges may be added to base prices for more complex characters (with detailed tattoos, wings, armour, cybernetic parts, etc.)2. Please discuss commission work with me via email (JayArrBarnes@gmail.com), not in comments or private messages. This will ensure that all communication is consolidated in one location.
3. Deadline expectations must be discussed before payment. I will have to refuse work with deadlines beyond my capability.
4. Clear visual and/or written reference of the subject is required before I will agree to commissioned work or accept payment.
5. Payment up front is required. I will discuss payment plans for work costing upwards of $40. Upgrades to sketch or ink work are available for the price difference.
6. A 50% refund will be issued in the event that a client wishes to cancel a commission during the sketch stage.7. I accept and encourage input during the thumbnail stage for larger pieces, and will make minor changes during the final sketch stage free of charge; fees may be added for major or later changes.
8. I reserve the right to refuse suggestions that I feel would compromise my artistic integrity.
9. I reserve the right to issue a refund and cancel a commission due to poor communication, rude or inappropriate behavior, and/or inability to communicate in effective English.
10. I will send email updates for approval at key stages during the completion of a piece. Don’t hesitate to email me if you are curious or concerned about the status of your commission.
11. I will retain the right to display commissioned work in personal galleries, blogs, and journals. I will retain ALL rights to commissioned work, including the right to make prints and merchandise.
12. Clients are allowed to make personal prints of commissioned work, resize or crop the work for icons, wallpapers and other personal use not for profit. Clients may NOT resell commissioned work, use it commercially, or alter it beyond cropping and resizing. Commissioned work may be uploaded to the client’s personal website or gallery, provided that credit is given to the artist.
13. I reserve the right to recycle sketches and preparatory works that were rejected by the client, for use in other commissions or personal work.
14. Clients must read, understand and agree to the above terms before entering into an agreement with the artist. Payment constitutes agreement with the above terms.
